The chairman of Spain's Grupo Santander, Emilio Botin, is visiting local banking unit Santander Chile and he announced a US$600mn credit line with preferential terms that will be offered in the areas affected by Saturday's earthquake. He also announced several other measures for these areas related to credit payments and refinancing, credit card payments and purchases as well as US$3.2bn in new credit lines for individuals and SMEs in all of Chile.
