Global Crossing impacted but working on solutions
Global Crossing, like other companies in the region, has been impacted by the earthquake in Chile. Our network services are operational and we continue to restore service to our customers who may have been impacted. We are communicating with our customers and working with them to ensure there is minimal disruption to the services they receive from Global Crossing.
We also are working very hard to recover our Data Center services as quickly as possible. We have sent employees into Chile from other countries to support our efforts on behalf of our customers. Power service has returned to the Data Center and service to our customers is being restored. We continue to communicate with our customers as more information becomes available.

I still remember the day I decided to put my servers in the datacenter GlobalCrossing, was struck by the quality of infrastructure, certifications, security access and all.
After the earthquake, after having worried about my family and friends, I thought briefly on my servers and I felt calm, relaxed knowing that I had made a good decision, that GlobalCrossing datacenter was designed to withstand an event of this magnitude. But then came the problem, the hours passed and the datacenter was not working, watched in disbelief as other data centers and links were still operating and those of GlobalCrossing were out of service. It has now been 4 days since the earthquake and the rack where my servers are still not energized, I was obliged to withdraw my machines and place them in another place with a temporary link, because many customers who depended on my services.
GlobalCrossing lost all credibility for me, and I think for many here in Chile. The problems experienced are simply unacceptable and only show that not always the most expensive is best, they were not properly prepared and that's it, no justification.
